Green Powerballs

Green Powerballs

These mighty Green Powerballs I made together with my 4-year-old daughter just before christmas. A few days before we had been to a café together where she, to my surprise preferred the raw ball over the cake – must admit I was a proud mother for a split second. Anyway, she insisted that we should remake them. Both this one and the yellow version which I will post later when we get that one a little better. We tried our best to detect the taste and then I added the Spirulina to get the perfect green colour and add some great health benefits

Spirulina is a powerful and natural algae powder that is very high in protein and a good source of antioxidants, B-vitamins among others. Spirulina can give you an energy boost and is an Anti-inflammatory agent. You can read much more about all the health benefits that Spirulina has at one of my favorite blogs Wellness mama
Hemp seeds is a natural appetite suppressant that can help us feel full longer and reduce sugar cravings. Hemp seeds is something that I like to use in both Powerballs and on my Porridge and as a topping on Smoothie Bowls.

Back to the Green Powerballs here goes the recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 3,5 dl. Natural Cashew nuts
  • 2,5 dl. Shredded coconut
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoon of Spirulina
  • 1 tablespoon Agave Honey
  • 3 tablespoons of Coconut oil
  • cest of 1 lime
  • dash of Salt
  • Extra shredded coconut to roll the balls in.
How to:
  • Place the dry ingredients in a food processor and mix it untill it´s nicely crushed – almost like flour.
  • Add the lime cest and the coconut oil and mix till smooth. You can always play with how much or little coconut oil you use till you get your desired texture
  • Make little balls and roll them in some extra shredded coconut

I hope you enjoy these incredible Green Powerballs as much as we do here in our little house holds. If you try them I would love to hear your feedback.

Have a wonderful day

With Love and curiosity,
Kirstine Ilum
